Wig Care Guide

Washing & Styling

• Do not rub or twist the hair
• Allow the wig to air dry whenever possible

A wig stand or mannequin head is recommended to maintain shape.

When Blow Drying or Styling:

• Always apply heat protectant
• Use medium heat only
• Avoid temperatures above 180°C
• Avoid concentrating heat in one area

Excessive heat styling may lead to dryness, colour fading and reduced lifespan.

Colour Care

All wigs are professionally coloured and may naturally soften or lighten over time.

Colour Fading May Be Accelerated By:

• Excessive washing
• Heat styling
• Sun exposure
• Harsh products

Please use silver shampoos carefully, as wig hair may absorb pigment quickly.

We strongly advise against bleaching.

Any colouring, toning or chemical processing is carried out entirely at the owner's risk and voids any aftercare assistance.

Lace & Adhesives

At Uncommon Wigs we generally recommend glueless wear whenever possible.

Glue, Tape and Adhesive Products May:

• Cause knot loosening
• Increase shedding
• Damage delicate lace
• Create additional maintenance

Damage caused by adhesives is not covered.

Storage

When Not In Use:

• Store in a cool, dry place
• Avoid direct sunlight
• Use a wig stand or mannequin head
• Or safely store within the original wig bag and box

Proper storage helps maintain shape and reduce tangling.

Wig Lifespan & Maintenance

The lifespan of a human hair wig depends on wear frequency, styling habits and overall aftercare. With proper maintenance, wigs may last 12 months or longer.

Please note that softness changes, colour softening, dryness and gradual thinning around the hairline or parting are considered normal wear and are not manufacturing faults.

Regular trims, moisture treatments and gentle handling may help extend longevity.
