What is the difference between "Pre Order" and "Ready to Ship" wigs?

Pre-Order wigs are custom-made to order in your chosen density, size, cap construction and colour, with a large range of customisation options. Because each one is handcrafted specifically for you, Pre-Order wigs take longer to produce and ship. Ready to Ship wigs are already finished, in-stock, single-variant pieces that ship out immediately, so if you need a wig quickly, look for the "READY TO SHIP" label on the product page.

How long does a Pre-Order wig take to arrive?

Because every Pre-Order wig is handcrafted to your specifications, production plus shipping typically takes several weeks. Exact timelines are shown on each product page and at checkout. Ready to Ship wigs leave our warehouse much faster since no custom production is required.

Can I customise my wig (density, size, cap construction, colour)?

Yes. Most Pre-Order wigs let you choose density (130%, 150%, 180%), length/size, and cap construction (including options for 13x6 HD lace fronts and beginner-friendly caps). Select your preferred options on the product page before adding to cart.

Sizing & Fit

How do I know what size wig to order?

Measure the circumference of your head with a soft tape measure, following your natural hairline, and compare it to the size guide on each product page. If you are between sizes, or have hair loss or alopecia, we recommend our Beginner Cap constructions, which offer a more adjustable, comfortable fit.

Do you have wigs suitable for alopecia or hair loss?

Yes. Several of our styles are designed with sensitive scalps in mind, including gentle, secure cap constructions intended for alopecia. Look for wigs labelled for alopecia on the collection pages, and feel free to reach out before ordering if you have specific comfort or fit requirements.

What is HD lace and why does it matter?

HD (High Definition) lace is an ultra-thin, fine lace designed to melt into the skin for an undetectable, natural-looking hairline. All of our HD lace wigs are made from 100% human hair, hand-tied for a natural, realistic parting and hairline.

Is the hair 100% human hair?

Yes, all Uncommon Wigs human hair wigs are made from 100% human hair, which can be styled, coloured (within reason) and heat-styled similarly to natural hair, unlike synthetic wigs.

Wig Care & Maintenance

How do I care for and wash my human hair wig?

Gently detangle before washing, use lukewarm water with a sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner made for human hair wigs, avoid rubbing or twisting the hair, and let it air dry on a wig stand. Avoid high heat unless using heat-protectant products, since repeated heat styling shortens the lifespan of the hair.

How long does a human hair wig last?

With proper care, washing, and storage, a 100% human hair wig from Uncommon Wigs can last from several months up to a couple of years of regular wear, depending on how often it is worn and styled.

Can I dye or heat style my wig?

Because our wigs use 100% human hair, light heat styling is possible with proper heat-protectant products. Colouring is possible but should be done carefully, ideally by a professional, as over-processing can damage the hair.

How can I track my order?

What is your return policy?

Please see our full Refund Policy for details on eligibility windows and conditions. Note that any requested alterations, including cutting the lace, make an item non-returnable, since the wig has then been customised specifically for you.

What if my wig arrives damaged or incorrect?

Contact us as soon as possible with photos of the item and your order number, and we will work with you to resolve the issue in line with our Refund Policy.
